Issues Installing FileCatalyst Products on Mac 10.8 with introduciton GateKeeper

In Mac OSX release 10.8 Mountain Lion there are clients who have seen a warning message when trying to install our FileCatalyst Products. The message states your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers.

Beginning in Mac OSX 10.7.5, Mac introduced a feature called Gatekeeper to protect OSX machines from unregistered applications. The default permissions set were changed from Anywhere to Mac App Store and identified developers.


FileCatalyst Direct Suite v3.4 and later.

Mac OSX Environment.



  1. This setting can be changed by accessing System Preferences.
  2. Select Security & Privacy.
  3. From the General Tab unlock the options by clicking on the lock in the lower left corner. You may be prompted to enter elevated user credentials.
  4. Select the Anywhere option and re-lock the tab after making the change.
