Unable to launch upload applet when using HTTPS

Overview

When your clients use HTTPS as a connection method and are unable to launch the upload applet, their Java settings may be at fault.

The error in question appears with the typical generic message such as:

When clicking this message, you will see a more in depth message:

Application Error

ClassNotFoundException

unlimited.fc.client.FileCatalystCartFCWeb.class

 

Environment

FileCatalyst Workflow v4.9.4 and later.

FileCatalyst Webmail v4.9.4 and later.

Windows Environment.

 

Resolutions

  1. From the client machine, open Control Panel and then double-click on Java.
  2. In the Java Control Panel, select the Advanced tab and then scroll to the bottom.
  3. Uncheck Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format.
  4. Click on the General tab and navigate to Temporary Internet File section and hit Settings.
  5. Select Delete Files... and select all the checkboxes and hit OK.
  6. When you are back in the General Tab, hit Apply and restart your browser.
