Users With Spaces in the Name Can Not Log Into Workflow

Overview

If you have Workflow deployed on Tomcat 9 and have usernames that contain spaces the clients will experience authentication failures.

This was a result of a Tomcat 9 change and can be resolved by adding the following line to the context.xml.

Environment


FileCatlayst Workflow v4.9.9 and older
Tomcat 9

Resolution

1) Stop the Tomcat service.


2) Locate the context.xml and add the following lines before the closing tag:

<CookieProcessor className="org.apache.tomcat.util.http.LegacyCookieProcessor"/>

The context.xml file is located in the conf folder within Tomcat i.e. C:\Tomcat 9.0\conf\



3) Start Tomcat service.
