Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is a cloud-based email sending service that can be integrated with FileCatalyst installed in the cloud or on-premises. The following article will guide you through the process of configuring this service on the FileCatalyst Server.

FileCatalyst Direct Suite v3.7.3 and newer.

Before you begin, you need to have an Amazon root account or administrator account that enables Amazon SES SMTP interface and if your FileCatalyst Server is installed on-premises needs to have access to the Internet or your Amazon SES SMTP interface.

  1. You need to create your SMTP credentials for Amazon SES. Please follow the guide Obtaining Your Amazon SES SMTP Credentials

The information you will get is the following (similar to the one below):

    - IAM User Name: ses-smtp-user.11111111-222222

    SMTP Password

Also, you need to get the SMTP information from Amazon, this will vary based on your availability zone. The information will be similar to this:

    - Port: 25, 465 or 587

    Authentication: Your SMTP credentials.

The values above will depend on your geographical location and the availability of Amazon SES on that area, please check Connecting to the Amazon SES SMTP Endpoint and Regions and Amazon SES

  2. Verify the email address or the domain. To send emails using Amazon SES, you always need to verify email addresses or entire domains. For more information, see Verifying Identities in Amazon SES article.

  3. After verifying the email address or domain name, you can proceed with the configuration within the FileCatalyst Server:

Go to Email Settings then fill the fields as described below:

Admin Email: use an email address that has already been verified.
